Vietnam is one of the developing countries in the Asia-Pacific region in terms of da’wah efforts. MyGuide Malaysia has taken the opportunity to build connections with Vietnam based on da’wah purpose. However, the Muslim community there faces significant challenges in accessing Islamic knowledge and disseminating it widely.

As a result, we have taken the initiative to sponsor potential new Muslims to pursue Islamic education in Malaysia. This sponsorship began in December 2023. Five students have been selected: four females and one male, aged between 12 and 17 years old.

Initially, MyGuide Malaysia only covered the flight tickets and visas for these five students. Due to various factors, we have since decided to extend our support to cover their entire educational journey, including accommodation, Madrasah annual fees, and other related expenses.

They are studying at Maahad Tahfiz Al-Quran Bahasa Arab Al-Manar Melor, Kelantan. This sponsorship initiative has been running for 8 months. These students have mastered Malay fluently in just 4 months and are currently learning Arabic to converse as a part of the Madrasah’s daily practice. This is a proud achievement, especially when compared to their initial performance when they first arrived in Malaysia, where they could only communicate with each other. At school, they are also receiving strong education both in the Quran and academics.

MyGuide Malaysia would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the donors who have consistently supported this effort. However, we still require ongoing funds to fulfil the dreams of these students to become successful da’is who can bring the Islamic knowledge learned in Malaysia back to their communities.
