Siri 3 Bingkisan Ramadan| Papua New Guinea
Behind the dense jungles and hills of Papua New Guinea, there is a Muslim community growing with great spirit — our brothers and sisters whose names we may never have heard, in a country that is distant yet close to the heart.
This is the dawah work being carried out by MyGuide Malaysia through our Country Coordinator, Hj. Mazli Wan Othman — who once spent several months living among the local Muslim community in the Pacific.
Programmes that have been implemented:
Construction of prayer rooms (surau) in the interior regions of PNG.
Assistance to Kama Mosque, Simbu.
Iftar meals distribution at Eriku Mosque.
Iftar gatherings with the Kokoda Muslim Community.
Religious studies and training for imams.
Islam in Papua New Guinea has grown rapidly since 2001 — largely through conversions among the indigenous population. They are in need of our support.
