Siri 3 Bingkisan Ramadan| Papua New Guinea

Behind the dense jungles and hills of Papua New Guinea, there is a Muslim community growing with great spirit — our brothers and sisters whose names we may never have heard, in a country that is distant yet close to the heart.

This is the dawah work being carried out by MyGuide Malaysia through our Country Coordinator, Hj. Mazli Wan Othman — who once spent several months living among the local Muslim community in the Pacific.

Programmes that have been implemented:

  • Construction of prayer rooms (surau) in the interior regions of PNG.

  • Assistance to Kama Mosque, Simbu.

  • Iftar meals distribution at Eriku Mosque.

  • Iftar gatherings with the Kokoda Muslim Community.

  • Religious studies and training for imams.

Islam in Papua New Guinea has grown rapidly since 2001 — largely through conversions among the indigenous population. They are in need of our support.
