Regional Da’wah Conference 11
Across Oceans, One Ummah Sometimes, the most powerful stories aren’t written in books, but in the hearts of those who live for a purpose greater than themselves. From 26 to 28 September 2025, something extraordinary unfolded in the heart of the Maldives. The Regional Da’wah Conference 11 (Zon 1), organised by MyGuide Malaysia with the support of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Maldives, brought together 63 delegates from eight nations, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Bhutan. They came from mountains, coasts, and crowded cities, all answering one call: to revive da’wah with love, courage, and unity. When H.E. Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, Minister of Islamic Affairs, officiated the event, his words echoed with truth: “Da’wah is not the duty of a few, it is the trust of us all.” From that moment, the air in the hall changed. The Qur’an recitations felt heavier with meaning, and every discussion carried the weight of something eternal. Over three days, RDC11-Z1 became more than a conference it became a reunion of souls. There were forums on empowering women in da’wah, mobilising youth, and strengthening governance through faith. Delegates exchanged not only strategies, but stories, laughter, and du’a. During one session, a young delegate from Afghanistan said softly, “When we speak of da’wah, we are not only inviting others, we are reminding our own hearts who we truly are.” The room fell silent. It was one of those moments that needed no applause, only reflection. Everyone felt it: the shared tenderness of faith, the quiet courage to keep going. In every corner of the Islamic Centre, you could see unity come alive, hands raised in prayer, heads bowed together, and hearts learning from one another. By the final day, when resolutions were read, to unite du’at across nations, to embrace digital tools for da’wah, to nurture the next generation there was a quiet certainty: this was not the end. It was the beginning of something far greater. As the adzan for Zuhur filled the hall, the delegates stood shoulder to shoulder, tears glimmering in tired eyes. Somewhere between the ocean breeze and the final salam, a promise was made, to carry the message forward, no matter how far apart they were. RDC11-Z1 was never just an event. It was a heartbeat. A reminder that when the ummah comes together across oceans, languages, and struggles even the smallest island can feel like the centre of the world. MyGuide Malaysia is humbled to have witnessed this unity of hearts, a tapestry of faith woven across nations. May the spirit of RDC11-Z1 continue to inspire da’wah movements across the globe, bringing light to every corner that needs it most. Because da’wah is not a duty, it’s a love story between the believer and the world.
